CNCA's vitamin D (2000 i.u.) contains a high dose of natural vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol from Lanolin), which helps to increase absorption of dietary calcium while decreasing calcium excretion from the body. Studies suggest vitamin D may also play a role in maintaining normal cell growth in breast, prostate and colon tissues.
If you are not exposed to adequate sunshine, or frequently wear sunblock when outside, you may be at risk for vitamin D deficiency. Because vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, people who can't absorb fats are also at risk for vitamin D deficiency.
What the FDA says about vitamin D: If you are an older adult, have dark skin, or are exposed to insufficient ultraviolet band radiation (such as sunlight), consume extra vitamin D from vitamin D-fortified foods and/or supplements.
If you require more than 2,000iu of supplemental vitamin D daily, CNCA offers Vitamin D 5,000iu. If you require less vitamin D, we recommend CNCA's Vitamin D 400iu.
