Also known as NAC, n-acetylcysteine is a precursor to glutathione, the “mother of all antioxidants”. NAC has been shown to have at least two distinctly different effects: first used as a liquid aerosol taken by inhalation, NAC is still used for its beneficial effects on respiratory function. Research shows NAC may have a tremendously beneficial role in boosting glutathione levels and thus improving antioxidant status.
