          I had only been taking a daily dose of 1 regular fish oil capsule of a generic brand for a couple of years thinking I was accomplishing something. Now I find I have prehypertension, borderline cholesterol and high triglycerides. My new cardiologist informed me that I now need a daily intake of 3000 mg of Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA combined). My old brand of fish oil would require 10 or more capsules to get that much plus the extra cholestorol and fats in that many would be counter-productive. I was happy to find by using EPAmax I only need 5 capsules daily. Another concern was taking so much fish oil might have a high mercury risk, but EPAmax is the purest form available. I've only been taking it for about a month now, so I can't comment on effectiveness, but based on what the doctor has recommended I am expecting to see really positive results on my next checkup. I will update my review as I get more results.
